MENTAL HEALTHCARE FUNDING

The Iowa Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation is steadfast in its mission to honor and support those who have borne the battle. Among the most pressing challenges facing our nation’s heroes today is the silent struggle of mental health. Many service members, veterans, and their families confront invisible wounds, such as post, traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, and the lasting effects of combat trauma, that too often go untreated due to financial barriers, limited access, or the stigma associated with seeking help.

Through our Mental Healthcare Funding Initiative, the Iowa Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation is committed to bridging that gap. We provide financial assistance and resource support for mental health treatment to U.S. military members, veterans, and their families across Iowa. This includes funding for counseling, therapy, inpatient and outpatient treatment programs, peer support services, and other evidence-based interventions that promote healing and resilience.

Our goal is simple yet profound: To ensure that no Iowa veteran or military family member is left to face mental health challenges alone. By partnering with healthcare providers, community organizations, and generous donors, we work to strengthen the continuum of care that restores hope, stability, and dignity to those who have sacrificed for our freedom.

Every contribution to this fund directly impacts the lives of veterans and their loved ones—helping them reclaim wellness, strengthen relationships, and rebuild their sense of purpose. Together, we can make a lasting difference by turning compassion into action and ensuring that the mental health needs of our nation’s defenders are never forgotten.
